This STUDY GROUP meets on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm in the Church. Rev. Roy Ayers facilitates. Come and join the healing flow of spiritual growth that is available. All are welcome and you may join at any time.
"Do you not think the world needs peace as much as you do?
Do you not want to give it to the world as much as you want to
receive it? For unless you do, you will not receive it." In a world pervaded by pain and suffering there seems to be a limitless number of problems, problems of all kinds and on all levels. The Course in Miracles seeks to cut through this bewildering complexity right to the core, to the central problem of human existence, and to there lay it's gentle remedy. All problems, it says, are really one problem. From external tragedies of war, famine, disease and death, to the deeper, inner crises of loneliness, emptiness and despair, to the cosmic spiritual dilemma of separation from God, they are all the same. "One problem, one solution. Salvation is accomplished." By identifying and alleviating this one problem, it seeks to bring healing to every level of our lives. What is this problem? According to the Course in Miracles it is an inner malady that lies deep within us. It is not an unfair conflict between ourselves and outside forces. It is a conflict in our own mind, between our freely chosen beliefs and our own best interests. A Course in Miracles is therefore "... a course in mind training," teaching us to make the choices that will heal this inner conflict and bring instead inner peace. The Course in Miracles is universal, non-sectarian, in its themes.
DID YOU KNOW? Nothing
I see… means anything. I
have given everything I see… all the meaning it has for me. I
do not understand anything I see. These
thoughts do not mean anything. I
am never upset for the reason I think. I
am upset because I see something that is not there. I
see only the past. My
mind is preoccupied with past thoughts. I
see nothing as it is now. My
thoughts do not mean anything. I
am upset because I see a meaningless world. A
meaningless world engenders fear. God
did not create a meaningless world. My
thoughts are images that I have made. I
have no neutral thoughts. I
see no neutral things. I
am not alone in experiencing the effects of my seeing. I
am not alone in experiencing the effects of my thoughts. I
am determined to see.
