STEPHEN JACOB

Stephen is an artist whose forte is instrumental music for the soul. He is nationally known as a performer and speaker having worked with such notables as Bernie Siegel, M. Scott Peck, Maya Angelou, Mark Victor Hansen, Joan Borysenko and Larry Dossey.  Stephen's music is distributed internationally, including the best-selling video "Virtual Nature", commissioned by The Nature Company.  Besides composing and performing music, his passions include writing and reciting poetry, story-telling, and leading workshops, retreats and conferences on "Living Life Fully!"  He is described by his audiences as "warm", "real", "passionate", "inspirational", and "a soul connector." He also loves sailing, body-surfing, hiking, biking, reading and sharing good food and fellowship with friends.

Born in Sydney, Australia, Stephen studied classical piano from a young age and played in many different kinds of groups. He attended Sydney University where he took courses in Indonesian and Malayan Studies, Sociology and Economics; and studied jazz at the Conservatorium. Stephen's wanderlust then led him to Indonesia where his unquenchable zest for life enticed him to continue his travels overland for some years through S.E. Asia, India, Nepal, the Middle East, Europe, back to Australia and then later to Canada and the U.S.

In 1983 he settled in Seattle, Washington and a year later started his company, MMMusic.  His first solo piano recording was "Magic, Music, Movement". Since 1984 Stephen has composed and performed both solo and ensemble music for thirteen recordings, seven of which he has personally produced, including two video soundtracks.
