What is Unity?

Unity is a way of living based on spiritual principles. In Unity, we
believe that everything in the world had its beginning as an idea. We
believe that everything we can see and touch is a manifestation of the
interactions between the mind of God and the actions and thinking of
human beings.
Unity offers a new way of thinking, a new way of being. It is full of
hope, love, peace, abundance, healing and joy. So, what is Unity?
Unity is a family of loved ones drawn together by their mutual belief in
an idea. The idea is of a good and all-powerful God, whose love dwells
in us. This God gives us everything we need to live happy, healthy, and
productive lives. This idea has created incredible blessings of
positive thought and prayer for our world.

Unity is based on science as well as religion. For this reason Unity
has been called "practical Christianity." If the ideas that Unity
teaches cannot be used on a daily basis by everyone, then the ideas are
theory only. The power of an idea lies in its capacity to be used in
the everyday situations that face all of us.

Unity is a way of living based on spiritual principles. The spiritual
truths of Unity include these major points:

* God is absolute good, everywhere present.

* Human beings have a spark of divinity with in them, the Christ spirit
within. Their very essence is of God, and therefore they are inherently
good, too.

* Human beings co-create their experiences by the activity of their
thinking. Everything in the manifest realm had its beginning in
thought.

* Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with
God-Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity and
goodness.

* Knowing and understanding the laws of life are not enough. A person
must also live the Truth that he or she knows.

* We can and do make a difference in our world!
