Come join us on the first Wednesday of each month, at 6 PM, for a potluck meal,
and at 7 PM for the movie of the month presented by our Humanity's Team.
These are not doctrinal or 'religious' films, pushing any sectarian viewpoint.
Instead, The Spiritual Cinema Circle selects well-made dramatic movies that
raise questions about who and what we are and why we are here, and also
hopefully leave us with a better feeling about ourselves.
Our series began with "The Gods Must Be Crazy" and will include such major
cinematic creations as "What The %#&/@ Bleep Do We Know", "Cocoon",
"Groundhog Day", "What Dreams May Come", and "Field of Dreams".
Many of these you may already have seen, but they are all films that
bear watching many times.
In addition, we will present a number of shorter, more focussed films,
both domestic and foreign, that also ask us to consider ethical and existential
questions within the context of good entertainment.
Each evening's program will provide opportunity for discussion for those
who wish to explore the thoughts and feelings called up by the movie shown.
So come the first Wednesday evening of each month, to kick back and enjoy a good flick without gratuitous sex and violence. There is no admission charge or other obligation -- just good company and thoughtful, stimulating entertainment!
