From time to time, we bring events to our Center, events that are
usually of special interest throughout the wider community. As an example,
Unity of Lewis County participated in the world premieres of the films "INDIGO",
and "INDIGO EVOLUTION" with very successful showings in our Center.
Another major non-musical event was the screening of the new film "The Celestine Prophesy". We showed this on April 7th, 8th and 9th (2006) .

We also sponsor the performance of musicians, poets, writers and speakers who combine spiritual awareness and strong communication skills with a popular appeal. These appearances are announced in the press and in our newsletter.
As examples, two musical events were
scheduled during March and April. The first of these was the sparkling musical
duo "Amber Tide"; they participated in the Sunday Service on
March 12th, and then appeared in concert at 1 PM.
The second major musical event was the appearance in concert of the Mount Shasta
group headed by Anton Mizurak (lineal descendant of Johan Strauss!). He
was joined by Michael Mandrell...a significant artist in his
own right.
On May 21st, we enjoyed our first visit by Darya ("Doctor Darya") Funches, an extraordinary poet and speaker. Extraordinary? Yes, and outrageous, brilliant, exciting, inspirational, spiritual, and penetratingly eloquent as well. Our first response to her was "When are you coming back?"
In June, we featured Australian sound
therapist Phil Jones, an authority on the native didgeridoo. Phil
was our guest speaker for our Sunday service on June 4th, and
also conducted a fascinating workshop on the didgeridoo as a meditative
instrument at 1 PM that same day.
Then, on June 25th, Vanda Mikeloski was our guest speaker,
addressing the humorous side of spirituality. She performed
her spiritual comedy the following Wednesday evening, June 28th
at 7 PM.
On July 23rd, 'Doctor Darya' again held our congregation in the open palm of her hand (and in her heart...she's that kind of person and speaker!). We were more impressed than ever, and once again pressed for a return engagement.
On Sunday, August 6th, our
guest speaker was Lucas Smiraldo, an eloquent and persuasive
'performance poet' based in Tacoma. In his poetry he searches
for the spiritual aspect of relevant issues in our daily lives.
He is quite successful at finding them, and presenting his
findings in meaningful, personal terms. 'Luke' is another
talent we hope to have with us again.
