Now Joseph thought Mary had been unfaithful. He had every reason to be angry and to blame her. Because he was just, of good judgment, he was open to the message God gave him of the value of this child.

This represents the change in consciousness where you no longer believe in suffering. You stop blaming outer circumstances for your problems. You restrain yourself from self-condemnation when something seems to go wrong. Instead you remain open to the lesson from God, that this situation must surely contain.

This consciousness is the good earth, in which the seed of Christ will surely grow.
