Over the last 20 years I have had a number of past life readings done for me using a technique that I learned from Jerry Rothermel, the late president of the School of Metaphysics. The readings are similar in style to those done by Edgar Cayce, earlier in this century. A trained reader is put into a state of hypnosis by a trained conductor. That reader then is directed to find the most significant past life for the subject, using an area of mind called the ‘Akashic Records’. The idea behind that Akashic Records is that every decision you make leaves a trace in a recording medium. The person getting the reading is not hypnotised, there is no regression, and they do not even have to be present. The conductor takes responsibility for the accuracy of the information involved, not the reader. This allows the reader to take their attention completely off the physical environment. You have had many past lives. The one that is most significant to you now is the one where you were working on the same type of problem or challenge that you are working on today. It only served to distract me from the really important question: Does this accurately describe my situation and challenge, and does it give me information I can use that I did not have before? The other thing a past life reading can do for you is give you an example of an objective spiritual observation of reality. This can be very valuable if you begin to practice it yourself.
